I had a mixed experience at Hotel Mercure Milano Centro. The location was fantastic, making it easy to explore Milan. but the room I stayed in felt quite cramped and dated. The staff were friendly and helpful, which added to the overall experience. however, the breakfast options left much to be desired.
Rooms
5.0
My room was small and under the roof, which made it feel claustrophobic at times. The lack of an elevator to the fourth floor was inconvenient with luggage. The air conditioning was managed only by staff, which was frustrating, as I couldn’t control the temperature myself.
Service
7.0
The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive. they provided a warm welcome upon my arrival and helped suggest local options, but had no flexibility about a late check-out which was disappointing.
Location
9.0
The location was undoubtedly the highlight of my stay. just a minute from the metro and a pleasant 15-minute walk to the Duomo, with plenty of restaurants and shops around. It couldn’t have been more convenient.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was a letdown. the selection felt limited and not fresh, especially for the price of €16. It was served in a nearby restaurant and didn’t meet my expectations for a hotel of this standard.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offered basic facilities such as laundry and baggage storage, but I found they were not as comprehensive as you might expect in a four-star hotel.

7.4/10
My stay at Hotel Mercure Milano Centro had its ups and downs. The location was fantastic, close to the metro and within walking distance of great shopping and tourist spots. However, the room left a bit to be desired in terms of comfort and maintenance, especially for a four-star hotel. The shower was too low for my height, and the air conditioning was quite noisy.
Rooms
6.0
The room was bigger than usual for Europe, and I appreciated the coffee machine. However, the outdated decor and uncomfortable pillows were disappointing. The shower height was a real issue for someone of my height, and the room cleanliness was hit or miss, especially with the towels smelling strongly of vinegar.
Service
7.0
The staff were quite friendly and attentive during my stay, which was a positive aspect. Checking in was warm and welcoming, but I did encounter a minor hiccup when I couldn't access the building one night, leading to some brief panic.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was a major highlight. It’s conveniently situated near the Porta Venezia metro station, making it easy to explore the city. I could easily walk to places like the Duomo or take the metro for a quick ride. Plus, being close to shopping avenues was a bonus.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast options could improve, as I found it a bit lacking considering the price. I opted to eat outside at nearby cafes after a couple of mornings, but the coffee was freshly made and the pastries were decent. I just expected more variety for the price I paid.
Facilities
5.0
While the hotel offered facilities like room service and laundry, I found the lack of an on-site restaurant a bit disappointing. Also, the need to use a local cafe for breakfast didn't match the expectations I had for a four-star hotel.

During my stay at the Mercure Milano Centro, I found the location to be its standout feature, perfectly situated near the Porta Venezia metro station and within walking distance of the Duomo. The rooms, though small, were well-maintained and functional for a short visit, but I did encounter some issues, such as a blocked sink and low-hanging light fixture. Overall, it's a practical choice for anyone needing easy access to central Milan.
